Problems I fix every week

  • Site down or extremely slow — 500 errors, timeouts, resource limits on shared hosting
  • Hacked WordPress or PHP site — malware, redirects to spam, pharma pages, Google "This site may be hacked" warnings
  • White screen of death after a plugin, theme or PHP version update
  • Database errors — "Error establishing a database connection", corrupted tables, full disks
  • SSL and HTTPS problems — expired certificates, mixed content, redirect loops
  • Email not sending or landing in spam — SPF, DKIM, DMARC and SMTP configuration
  • Domain and DNS issues — site shows the wrong page, nameserver mistakes after a hosting move
  • Locked out of the admin panel, lost passwords, broken migrations

How I work an emergency

  1. Triage — you send me the URL, what changed recently, and access details through a secure channel. I look at the actual logs and the actual server, not guesses.
  2. Stabilise — get the site back online or into maintenance mode, isolate malware, stop the bleeding.
  3. Root cause — I tell you in plain words what broke and why. A fix that does not explain the cause is not a fix.
  4. Harden — patch, update, lock down file permissions, add backups and monitoring so this does not repeat.

Why a server administrator, not just a web designer

I have been running Linux and web servers for over a decade, alongside reverse engineering and troubleshooting work. Most website emergencies are server or security problems wearing a website costume. Reading Apache and PHP logs, tracing a redirect chain, or cleaning a compromised account is routine for me — and I never showcase client sites, so your incident stays confidential.
